I started racing in 2003 when I was 16 at Knockhill in
the Scottish XR2 championship doing the second half of
the season; I spent most of the time learning the car
and track. The car was run and maintained by Burnett Motorsport.
Moving into the 2004 season was my first full season in
the XR2 championship I finished 19th overall with some
top 10 finishes, I had changed teams for this season it
was now ICR that prepared the car. In 2005 I had a new
fiesta built by Burnett Motorsport and ICR this made a
huge difference. The championship had a few away rounds
this year going to Cadwell and Mallory, where I had my
first pole position, It was a good years racing finishing
8th overall. I also did my first rally navigating. The
2006 season saw me back at Burnett moving from the circuits
to rallying, I had a Peugeot 106 class1 car, with Vicky
Grant sitting next to me. We had several class wins at
various venues. In 2007 we moved up to class3 with a citreon
c2r2, I competed in the international Jim Clark Rally
my biggest event yet. I went back to circuits at the end
of the season to test a Burnett legend. 2008 saw me win
the National Legends Cars Rookie Championship (the Big
John Edwards Trophy) without a DNF the whole season. In
2009 I'm back out it in both championships hoping for
a top fivein the national and overall honours in the Scottish.
