22nd July, Knockhill
Tri-Oval
The team manger
heads to Knockhill for another evening racing on the stock
cars bill. Steve gets the engine in his car and makes his
way to Knochill for another night of fast paced racing. "I
set off on my own - no tools - just load the car up and make
my way to Knockhill. In the first race we drove clockwise
over 10 laps so I set out just to make sure I I could finish
and get some track time - that turned out OK and I managed
to get to the end with no drama. So after a short time in
the pits it was time to go out again although this time it
was anti clockwise - after you turned out of the hairin it
felt so fast. This race did not go as well - I manged to spin
it twice due to my foot being on throttle too hard (never
was sure how to list off!). Back in pits and 8:25pm, such
a short night and so much happening in such a short space
of time, out we go for the 15 lap final. By this time my supporters
had come to give me support so this time I set out to finish
a 15 lap final going anti clockwise and that I did! I am just
settling into the car and had a great night - I am sure all
the drivers had great fun as well. That’s as fat as the oval
goes for for a few weeks 'til we try again. Ross Marshall
was there all night as it was his turn to give me support.
Not sure if that’s a good move 'cause I think when I tell
him what to do from now on he will say 'you could not do what
I said', but it was nice to have him along for support!
